georgia just keeps pumping out the classic moments that will be remembered forever in our country's history. the senate just passed a bill that bans women from piercing their genitals. one more step in the wrong fucking direction, people!!
and the best part:
Amendment sponsor Rep. Bill Heath, R-Bremen, was slack-jawed when told after the vote that some adults seek the piercings.
"What? I've never seen such a thing," Heath said. "I, uh, I wouldn't approve of anyone doing it. I don't think that's an appropriate thing to be doing."
i wonder how they will enforce this. i wonder what their reasoning for banning this is. i wonder why the punishment is 2-20 years in federal-pound-me-in-the-ass prison? what do they intend to accomplish with this...

While I think genital piercings, male or female, are distasteful aesthetically and not very hygienic, I also think that people should be allowed to do any damnfool thing they please with their bodies.
I don't want to live in the South for that much longer.
In larger news, though, this country is moving more towards fundamentalism -- as is most of the world, besides Europe. It's a very dangerous, very worrying trend, because it would essentially mean the end of civilization as we know it, if the religious nutjobs get their way.
